Chronology of changes to the Regional Deterministic Air Quality Analysis (RDAQA)

Reduction of operational RDAQA sfcearly suite cutoff time to 40min
On Thursday August 27, 2026, starting with the 1400 UTC run, the Canadian Meteorological Centre (CMC) of the Meteorological Service of Canada (MSC) proceeded with an update to version 2.3.0 of the Regional Deterministic Air Quality Analysis (RDAQA).
The change was been made to the RDAQA sfcearly events scheduling times, reducing the cutoff from 1h10m to 0h40m after each synoptic hour. The modification was made to better reflect the current availability of the observational data used in the objective analysis.

Upgrade to Version 2.2.0 of the Regional Deterministic Air Quality Analysis (RDAQA) at the Canadian Meteorological Centre
On Tuesday June 11, 2024, starting with the 1200 UTC run, the Canadian Meteorological Centre (CMC) will upgrade the Regional Deterministic Air Quality Analysis (RDAQA) to version 2.2.0.
Significant changes :
- Pilot model update: from Regional Air Quality Deterministic Prediction System (RAQDPS) version 24 to version 25.

Significant innovations in this upgrade:
- Error covariances computed using an ensemble of simulations
- Cross validations now used to estimate optimal parameter values
